10th Annual UT Viola Celebration

October 29 - 30, 2016

For one weekend every fall, the UT Viola Celebration shines a spotlight on the viola.  Violists of all ages – students and professionals alike – join together in a rare exaltation of the alto clef!

The University of Tennessee's tenth Anniversary Viola Celebration, scheduled October 29 – 30, 2016, will include all of the special topic classes, master class and performance opportunities of previous Viola Celebrations.  The Viola Ensemble Competition will be held once again this year – plan to enter in order to win the beautiful traveling trophy!  Activities have been organized to allow for all ages and abilities to celebrate the viola in this weekend of fun and learning.

2016 Viola Celebration Guest Faculty

  • Carol Rodland, Eastman School of Music
  • Sheila Browne, University of North Carolina School of the Arts
  • Sarah Cote, Belmont University
  • Renee Skerik, Interlochen Arts Academy
  • Basil Vendryes, University of Denver

All events will take place in the brand new state of the art Natalie L. Haslam Music Center on the University of Tennessee Campus.

As an incentive to apply early, the first 10 students to register on-line after Noon EST on September 15th will be invited to perform a duo with one of the Faculty at the final concert!
