Choral Area Community Outreach

  • Vocal/ Ensemble Festival
The University of Tennessee Vocal Solo and Ensemble Festival is an adjudicated music festival especially for vocal and choral students in Tennessee high schools. The Festival is an opportunity for high school students to perform quality music before professional music educators and to receive comments and an evaluation. This festival usually occurs in the Spring.
  • All-East Choral Prep Clinic
Each fall, the choral area provides a workshop to high school choral students in Tennessee to help them prepare for their All-East auditions.  During the day-long clinic, the students are provided multiple opportunities to prepare for their audition and receive valuable vocal training.  The preparatory clinic is always provided free of charge to all participants.
  • Holiday Choir Concert
The choral area presents an Outreach Holiday concert each December at an off-campus location.  This allows the UT choral ensembles to work with area professional and amateur musicians in presenting music of the season to an audience, many of which are unable to come to a concert on campus.  This holiday concert is provided to our community free of charge.
  • Holiday Caroling
During the holiday season, UT’s student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association provides a variety of holiday music to area businesses and corporations for their holiday celebrations.
