Providing students a variety of performing opportunities and study with internationally known keyboard faculty, the School of Music offers degree programs in piano, organ and accompanying. Undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Music degrees in piano and organ
performance, piano pedagogy, music education, and sacred music, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in piano or organ. Graduate degree programs include Master of Music degrees in piano and organ performance, piano pedagogy, and accompanying. Students take classes in literature, pedagogy and accompanying in addition to the core music courses.
Keyboard instruments include approximately 100 pianos including 15 Steinways, 2 harpsichords and 4 pipe organs. A new three-manual Richards-Fowkes concert organ resides in the James R.
Cox Auditorium.
The members of the keyboard faculty perform internationally as soloists and chamber musicians. Keyboard students have been participants, finalists, and prize winners in national and international competitions throughout the world.
