UT Horn Summit

March 18-19, 2016

All High school and college age horn players and directors are invited to participate in the first ever Tennessee Horn Summit.  The purpose of the Horn Summit is to grow, learn, and experience our mutual love for music and the horn together.

Student participants will work with internationally-known performer and pedagogue, Douglas Hill, as well as University of Tennessee horn professor, Katie Johnson.  March 18 will cater to college students while March 19 will be designated for high school students, although interested horn players and enthusiasts of any age and level are encouraged and welcome to attend.  Both days will include performances, master classes, yoga for musicians, professional panels, and much more.

Band and Orchestra Directors from Tennessee and surrounding states are invited to attend the Horn Summit and participate in a special panel discussion on March 19.

Tremendous gratitude is due to The University of Tennessee School of Music, The University of Tennessee College of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tennessee Office of Research and Engagement and the International Horn Society for their generous sponsorship of this event.
