Concerts & Events

The School of Music at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville offers more than 200 recitals and concerts per year. Unless otherwise noted, all concerts are FREE and open to the public. Most concerts and events will be in one of three performance halls on campus: Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center located at 1741 Volunteer Boulevard; James R. Cox Auditorium and Performance Hall 32, both in the Alumni Memorial Buildinglocated at 1408 Middle Drive.

    As part of Earth Day celebrations, composer and environmentalist John Luther Adam will lead an open-to-the-public rehearsal of his outdoor masterpiece Inuksuit for 9 to 99 percussionists. Inuksuit will be performed on April 22nd at Ijams Nature Center. Rehearsal is free and open to the public.

    As part of Earth Day celebrations, John Luther Adam's outdoor masterpiece Inuksuit for 9 to 99 percussionists will be performed by the UT Percussion Ensemble, the contemporary percussion group Nief-Norf, and multiple other regional percussionists. Admission fee is $20 per car and $10 per bike. Reception immediately after concert for the composer, performers, and audience, with food and drink available for purchase.
