Concerts and Events

The School of Music at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville offers more than 200 performances and events each year. Unless otherwise noted, all concerts are FREE and open to the public. Most concerts and events will be in one of three performance halls on campus: Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center located at 1741 Volunteer Boulevard; James R. Cox Auditorium and Performance Hall 32, both in the Alumni Memorial Building located at 1408 Middle Drive.

  • nief-norf Summer Festival 2016
    The nief-norf Summer Festival (nnSF) is an interdisciplinary summer music festival, bringing together dozens of performers, composers, and scholars to collaborate on the performance, creation, and discussion of contemporary solo and chamber music. The nnSF offers an intensive think-tank environment and presents inspiring and devoted performances of modern music, aiming to encourage both appreciation and support for live music and contemporary art.

  • Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance
    The 2016 collaboration of the Tennessee Valley Players and the University of Tennessee School of Music! Don't miss this multiple Tony-award winning, hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling police, dim-witted young lovers and an eccentric Major General! Ten performances will run over the span of three weeks.
