The University of Tennessee Opera Theatre will performGioacchino Rossini’s two-act opera, The Barber of Seville, on November 15-17 at the Bijou Theatre on Gay St.
Directed by James Marvel and conducted by Kevin Class, The Barber of Seville, is a comic romp that has remained a favorite of audiences worldwide. While the costumes and sets will resemble traditional interpretations of this opera, the direction by James Marvel will feature many twists and touches that audiences have come to love so well from the adventurous UT Opera Theatre program. Performing under the exacting baton of Dr. Kevin Class, the UT Orchestra and UTOT singers will bring to life the musical mastery of Rossini’s work.
Performances are scheduled November 15-17, 2013 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 p.m., and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Cost is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $5 for students.
